Impulse Grant
In research, it is important to have the latest-generation technology, but above all it is essential to be able to hire researchers with the drive to find answers to unresolved medical questions.
Through the Impulso Grant, the Daniel Bravo-Andreu Private Foundation seeks to support young scientists working on ambitious, well-founded research projects.
The Daniel Bravo-Andreu Private Foundation has awarded one Impulse Grant to a researcher from the Paediatric Arrhythmia Unit at Barcelona’s Hospital Sant Joan de Déu .
The three-year project Identifying, analysing and eliminating conduction channels to treat ventricular arrhythmias in paediatric structural heart disease is promoted by Dr. Georgia Sarquella Brugada and led by Dr. Josep Brugada and Dr. Antonio Berruezo of the HSJD-Hospital Clínic Integrated Arrhythmia Unit. They expect to see results associated with better identification of the risks of sudden death in infants, as well as how to improve treatment and prevention in patients with diagnosed ventricular arrhythmias.
With this contribution, the Daniel Bravo-Andreu Private Foundation aims to help consolidate emerging research activities in the Arrhythmia Unit, an area in which Hospital Sant Joan de Déu has become a benchmark centre with more than 20 years of experience.
